Join Us Sunday, October 2nd, 5-6:30pm PT
We invite you to experience first-hand how our 60,000+ participants use creative expression to support their own journey toward healing and wellness at our annual fundraiser, “Home Is Where the Art Is”. This unique virtual event provides an opportunity for you to (re)connect with yourself and explore how you want to be in connection with others while creating your own personal art.
During this special evening, we will also honor three incredible individuals for embodying and advancing AWBW’s mission with our “Rooting Resilience,” “Uplifting Voices,” and “Transforming Trauma” Awards.
Tickets include a curated Connection Kit. This kit will be mailed to you prior to the event — or you can gift this opportunity to friends, family, or colleagues across the country. It contains:
2 Large Puzzle Pieces for creating on
12 Permanent Markers in a variety of colors
Assorted items for grounding
As always, no artistic skills are needed for the interactive art workshop activity — just a willingness to explore your creativity and connectivity.
For her immeasurable dedication as a Windows Facilitator in bringing AWBW’s transformative arts program throughout Los Angeles Unified School District, introducing art as a tool for healing and wellness to an ever-increasing number of students, faculty, and staff, we honor Sally Stevens with our “Rooting Resilience” Award.
For her unwavering support of participants as they become empowered to speak their truths, including her patronage of AWBW’s Survivors’ Art Circle Program for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, we honor Kim Cummings with our “Uplifting Voices” Award.
For her undeniable commitment to art transforming trauma as Board Chair (2019-2022), along with her passionate and visionary facilitation of art workshops for intimate healing and public activism with LGBTQ+ and AAPI communities, we honor Stacia Kato with our “Transforming Trauma” Award.
