Planned Giving allows supporters to extend their commitment to making AWBW’s healing art programs available to survivors of trauma and violence for generations to come.
It’s easier to do than you may think, and even a modest amount can make a huge difference in the continuing work of the organization.
Giving to charity is not an “all or nothing” option. Gifts can exist side-by-side with other beneficiaries and personal priorities.
Designating a planned gift makes you a member of AWBW’s Legacy Society and will be appreciated and appropriately recognized.
Types of Planned Gifts
Bequests: One of the easiest ways involves simply naming A Window Between Worlds as a beneficiary in your will or living trust. A bequest may be for a particular dollar amount, a specific asset, or a percentage of your estate.
Life Insurance Policy and Retirement Plan: Often overlooked by donors, naming AWBW as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy or retirement plan can provide support for the organization for years to come. Important to note is that retirement plan assets may be heavily taxed if left to your heirs, while if passed on to a nonprofit organization these taxes may be avoided.
Life Income Gifts: You can make a gift that enables you to generate an income stream for yourself for life while realizing significant tax benefits and making a gift to AWBW. The two most popular life income gifts are charitable remainder trusts and charitable gift annuities.

We encourage you to talk with your financial or tax advisor and estate planner to discuss the tax benefits of these options.
