Voice
Finding the words to express oneself, break the silence, and affirm one’s power are critical steps in moving forward. Creating art provides a gentle and effective way for participants to freely express themselves and release painful feelings. Participating in even one art session can be incredibly cathartic and help with creating a stronger, more personalized voice.
“At the beginning I thought, ‘How could cutting and gluing my thoughts on paper be helpful?’ However, by the end of the session, I was in tears – healing tears.
