AWBW Community Art Action Day: Moving Atlanta Forward
About this Exhibition
In September of 2022 AWBW held our very first community art action event in Atlanta at the ArtsXchange. Many thanks to Google’s Office of Social Impact for sponsoring this event (as well as scholarships for the AWBW Facilitator Training!).
AWBW staff facilitated a beautiful art filled day with 10 members of the Atlanta Community – starting with our Turning Over a New Leaf workshop, and culminating with the Community Story Tree project led by community artist Petie Parker, Muralist/Peters Street Station GM, who also created the outline of the tree.
Participants included renowned artist Gilbert Young, artist and Pittsburgh Neighborhood Association Vice-President, Winfrey Young, Designer, Tayo Tinubu, Psychotherapist, Danielle Ferguson, Community Artist, Jillie, Simone Walls, Community & Foundation Manager at the Atlanta Braves Foundation, artist Keturah Benson, Black Yoga Bae, Yoga Studio Owner Sade Banks and community member Nefetari Sole.
