At the Core Exhibition
About this Exhibition
A Window Between Worlds’ community art initiative At the Core: Transforming Trauma Together, led by artist Fabian Debora, represents our innermost selves, and the hearts of our communities, coming together to use art to transform trauma.
This collaborative project invites us to pull back the layers to address core wounds, core values, and core needs in order to foster lasting individual and community transformation.
In June 2017, we displayed a 33-foot mural with accompanying information at a two-week interactive exhibition at San Fernando Valley Arts and Cultural Center. This mural, created by participants at 11 AWBW partner organizations, and the art created by exhibition guests, is a catalyst for positive change — now and into the future.
Special thanks to Fabian Debora, the At the Core cohort of AWBW partnering organizations, Latino Producers Action Network, Turner and Allana Johnson of YOK Creative, San Fernando Valley Arts and Cultural Center, Emily Anne and Bob Evans, Amina Zadeh, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Signarama Van Nuys, Whole Foods Venice, Los Angeles County Arts Commission, and the LA City Department of Cultural Affairs.
