Emotional Regulation
Promoting positive coping skills for handling anger, other difficult emotions and pain is an essential step in moving beyond trauma. Regulating these emotions can be achieved when it is discussed openly without judgment; art-making provides a gentle and safe avenue to express anger and other strong emotions. Creating art allows participants to give voice to their emotions and develop positive coping methods to release them in healthy ways.
