Lesley Perdomo
We are excited to spotlight our energetic Volunteer and Contributor, Lesley Perdomo, who continues to amaze us with her outreach and enthusiasm for AWBW’s mission! Lesley attended our Advocate Huddle in 2013 and jumped right in to get involved. A simple offer to volunteer her chalk artistry at our 2013 Art in the Afternoon grew into a relationship that continues to leave our team in awe.
All it took was a little bit of chalk, and Lesley helped our guests unleash their creative spirit at the event. We initially thought kids would enjoy the activity most, but guests of all ages joined in on the fun. Even our friends from Fire Station 63 took a turn with the chalk! Lesley became the inspiration for the 2015 Art in the Afternoon invitation, which is covered in chalk art and smiling faces.
Lesley continues to volunteer for Art in the Afternoon, and she joined our event committee helping to coordinate auction items and a Cookie Decorating booth sponsored by the Art Institute of California – Los Angeles. We can’t wait to see what beautiful chalk art she will imagine up next!
Thank you, Lesley, for sharing the healing power of art with everyone you meet. We’re so grateful for your support and expertise!
