Corporate Partner Spotlight: Hogan Lovells Law Firm
Hogan Lovells Law Firm first heard about AWBW from a friend and neighbor of our founder, Cathy Salser. They immediately decided to get involved in any way they could to support AWBW’s art program to help increase its beneficial impact in our community and around the country. “AWBW’s endeavor supports healing, overcoming and communicating after trauma. We are mostly inspired by the program’s idea of healing trauma in a positive way,” says Susan Launer of Hogan Lovells.
“One of the special things about this program is that it supports children and adults. Trauma can affect a person at any age, so the impact is universal. AWBW provides an environment that is safe for everyone so that they can rebuild their lives by telling their stories and expressing themselves.”
Hogan Lovells sponsored a new activity for AWBW’s Art in the Afternoon in 2017, the Bubble Rollers. “The event was amazing and the Bubble Rollers were loved by all. It was very special for us to participate an AWBW marquee fundraiser, contribute to the excitement and fun of the event, and help raise funds for a great cause.”
Hogan Lovells has a company-wide citizenship program that encourages everyone to participate in at least 25 hours of community investment each year. They also select one local organization to support with fundraising events, and they have proudly chosen to support AWBW. Their employees have participated in a wide range of activities, including making event decorations and preparing art supplies for workshops. They have held a variety of fundraising events from bake sales to jeans days.
Hogan Lovells would like to encourage more people to support AWBW through partnerships and donations. “By volunteering and participating in fundraisers, we are not only contributing to the community but are a meaningful partner with an organization we believe in and are proud to support,” says Susan. They love receiving updates and newsletters from AWBW, as it keeps them informed about all of the great work AWBW is doing in the many communities it serves!
