AWBW builds capacity at partnering organizations through training their staff to facilitate our trauma-informed art workshops, as well as continuing to support them as they implement the Windows Program with those who have experienced various forms of trauma. Through this unique model, we have developed a nationwide network of 1,200+ active Windows Facilitators, allowing us to reach tens of thousands of survivors each year.

Cathy Salser Honored at 25th Anniversary Brunch

Posted August 30, 2016 by A Window Between Worlds

Cathy SalserUPDATE: Watch Cathy’s acceptance speech with introduction by her mother, Susan Salser on our YouTube Channel.

In the summer of 1991 artist Cathy Salser sent announcements to domestic violence shelters across the country about holding art workshops at their locations. Her goal on that journey was to offer art as a tool for empowerment – a vision that continues today through the work of A Window Between Worlds’ staff and network of over 1,000 trained Leaders at partnering human service agencies nationwide.

AWBW is proud to honor Cathy, our Founder and Executive Director, Cathy Salserwith the Creative Vision Award at our 25th Anniversary Brunch on Sunday, September 25th at Hotel Casa Del Mar. We invite you to join us for an ocean-view brunch, special presentations, silent auction and Touchstones created by partnering artists at this very important event to benefit AWBW’s transformative arts programs.

For those who cannot attend,  please consider making a gift in honor of this milestone anniversary to help us seed the next 25 years of creativity and healing. Any amount truly makes a difference.  It’s thanks to supporters like you that AWBW has opened windows of safety, self-expression and connection for over 182,000 women, men and children in our 25-year history.
