When trauma is not transformed, it is transmitted.
Healing happens in community, not isolation.
For three decades AWBW has shared art as a touchstone for change for those impacted by violence and trauma. In 2015, we launched a community art initiative based in this concept — Touchstones — as well as added workshops to our vast curriculum to welcome participants to create and carry small pieces of art to support them on their life journey.
In celebration of AWBW’s 30th Anniversary, you are invited to join AWBW Founder Cathy Salser on a journey using Touchstones as a foundation for self-care, grounding and transformation. In 1991 a collaborative art journey birthed AWBW. Now another journey begins:
We invite members of the community to co-create this circle of art transforming trauma, with Touchstones as a way to connect deeply to themselves and each other. The Touchstone Journey Circle welcomes a “learning lab” investigating Touchstones as an anchor for change, from the cellular to the systemic. There are many layers to trauma and healing. From individual to relational, family, community and systemic layers, legacies of trauma ripple generations back. Actions of healing can ripple generations forward.
Join by becoming a sustaining supporter of AWBW (minimum of $5/month). Your recurring gift will directly benefit AWBW programming — helping to fund training scholarships, workshop development, and Windows Facilitator leadership.
Our wish is to build a circle 360 Journeyers strong… a powerful circle exploring these tools in their own lives, and in making these resources available to others by supporting AWBW’s next chapter.
