Cathy Salser, AWBW’s Founder and Executive Director shares the following:
It is my profound honor to get to thank Olivia on behalf of AWBW. Olivia’s passion, leadership and incredible talent have been at the heart of AWBW’s work for 14 years and words cannot possibly convey the beauty and magic of all she created. Her dedication and hard work were matched only by her wicked sense of humor, joy and grace. In her hands and heart, each day became an adventure of faith and love, humbly devoted to making a difference.
Her accomplishments have been many including the training of 2,549 AWBW Leaders, supporting the growth of our programs from 69 sites to over 400 sites and supporting the expansion of our programs from 6 states to 27, and customizing trainings for service populations beyond domestic violence including sexual assault, veterans, youth and tribal communities. Olivia’s dedication to the mission and to trauma informed principles situated AWBW to expand it’s mission while maintain the integrity of our collaborative model to service delivery.
It is incredible to stand back and behold all Olivia has accomplished. I remember like it was yesterday the joyful moments of visioning and exhilaration of implementation, seeing pieces take shape: pieces of healing, pieces of heart. Olivia’s caring for each leader, each participant, staff member, board member, and volunteer was bone deep, and her sharing and listening created a window between worlds, soul to soul.
I am excited for Olivia’s journey ahead and am committed to carrying forward all she’s helped to create over fourteen years. She will remain as an advisor and consultant and her gifts and leadership at AWBW will ripple forward forever.
