Portraits of Survivors Exhibit

Through art exhibitions, A Window Between Worlds provides an opportunity for domestic violence programs nationwide to share important issues with a wide public audience in a particularly powerful way.

The acrylic portraits weave together the women's hands, faces, and words, thus expressing their stories, strength and hope. The women's words appear three-dimensionally beneath the surface of the paint, simultaneously invisible and indelible. The words, like the experiences forming the women's lives, can never be erased, nor fully seen.

As the centerpiece of annual fundraisers and anniversary celebrations, sale of the portraits has benefited both the hosting program and A Window Between Worlds, as the proceeds from the portraits are shared with the hosting program.
