Pacific Clinics Community Story Tree, Pomona, CA
Pomona Community Members
Pacific Clinic Pomona's Community Story Tree was created by 72 individuals from the Pacific Clinics organizations and Pomona City members as a symbol of their community commitment against domestic violence. Domestic violence survivors, allies, friends, and family members expressed their stories and shared their hopes and visions for a future free from domestic violence. Participants included the Pomona USD, Pomona Police Department Police Chief, GAIN Region III, Fire Station 186B Captain, A Window Between Worlds, County of Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services, The Department of Mental Health and other local domestic violence agencies.
Participants used their creativity to explore the issue of domestic violence in any way that was more meaningful to them. Some participants reflected on their past to share their personal stories of pain and triumph. Some reflected on the wishes, hopes and dreams they have for the future.
This tree remains as a permanent exhibit in Pacific Clinics Pomona's main office. |
